Manila Memorial Park - Philippines

There are parks worthy of visitation in the Philippines, and certainly one of those that merits a stopover will be the Manila Memorial Park at Sucat, Paranaque. With its serene environment, it can be a pleasant way to spend the afternoons.

The Manila Memorial Park is owned by a company that also bears the name, and it introduced the concept of a memorial park in the mid 1960s. Since that time, it has produced other similar parks in other parts of the Philippines including one in Bulacan, Novaliches in Quezon City and Dasmarinas, Cavite.

The Manila Memorial Park is often visited by tourists, both local and foreign for its beautiful and scenic environment. Arriving here at daytime and you will be greeted by the site of various types of trees and greens, soothing both the weary body and the restless mind. Walking around the area you will come across several types of mausoleums, columbarium and other resting places. You will also see several different types of marble tablets, all surrounded by trimmed and well kept grass.

Aside from the resting places, there are also several sculptures in and around the Manila Memorial Park, which not only act to further enhance the surroundings, but also to serve as remembrances to those who have gone before. There are also ornately designed chapels to be found, and also fountains where clear and pure waters are constantly flowing. All of these combine to create an atmosphere of peace and serenity.

To get to the Manila Memorial Park, board any bus, jeepney or taxi bound for the South Luzon Expressway and drop off at the Sucat Exit. You will see the Loyola Memorial nearby; go past it and head to the left where you will see the Manila Memorial Park.

The Manila Memorial Park in Dasmarinas, Cavite is about an hour away from Manila. To get there you need to board a bus or taxi bound for the South Expressway, after which you should drop off at the Carmona exit or the one at Southwoods. If you are interested in visiting the park at Novaliches, you can, coming from Pasig City, go to Mindanao Avenue and get a ride to Novalcihes.
